KTM Revamps Two and Four-Stroke MX Lineup

KTM has announced a revamp of both its two and four-stroke motocross lineup, with less weight and more power the big takeouts from this announcement – word we always like to hear. The two-stroke 125 SX and 150 SX get the biggest changes, while the four-stroke 350 SX-F gets some nice upgrades as well.

The 125 SX and 150 SX get all new two-stroke engines. Within the heart of the new engine is a newly designed cylinder that has a bore of 54 mm. Apart from reworked ports, it features a newly developed power valve unit with a sophisticated mechanism for the lateral support exhaust ports. New 125 SX engine is more compact and is 4.4 pounds lighter than before while 150 SX engine loses four pounds of mass.

KTM says the over 90% of parts for the 125 and 150 updated bikes are new. Both models get a newly designed chassis with a new frame, subframe, footpegs, swingarm, linkage and rear shock to provide improved mass centralization and reduced weight for better handling.

The updates to the four-stroke SX-F range aren’t as dramatic, but still include as standard a state-of-the-art launch control system, an updated EMS with a faster ECU, as well as a new throttle body and different riding modes. The 350 SX-F gets the most attention and now has many of the features from the 250 SX-F Factory Edition released last year.

2016 KTM 125 SX Highlights
