Not long after pricing for Australia was released, Honda USA has confirmed pricing for the CRF1000L, also known as the reborn Africa Twin. In a nice surprise, the base model comes with ABS, while the top of the range version will include both ABS and DCT. There’s also not a large price difference between the two.
Pricing is set at $12,999 for the base model and $13,699 for the DCT version with ABS. Given a difference of only $700 we’d expect the DCT model to be the big seller. Like Australia, pricing is very favorable in comparison to the competition although probably doesn’t represent as good value as it does down under when you consider current exchange rates.
In comparison, the KTM 1190 Adventure sells for $16,699 while the more adventure orientated 1190 Adventure R goes for $16,999. BMW’s hugely successful R 1200 GS sells for $16,175.
The Honda Africa Twin CRF1000L will hit American showrooms in early 2016.
