In what appears to be a direct competitor to the Yamaha’s FZ-09, the Suzuki GSX-S750 has been unveiled. It’s a stablemate of Suzuki’s most popular streetbike, the GSX-750 but incredibly, the new Suzuki will cost $4,300 less than the faired version at $7,999. And for that price, you get the same 750cc inline 4 but with a slightly different tune for low and mid range performance rather than top end grunt. This is the bike Suzuki so desperately needed.
Bodywork wise, there’s really nothing carried over from the GSX-750. I’m not generally a fan how Suzuki’s look, but the new GSX-S750 appears for the most part fairly restrained, save for that weird bit of molded plastic around the side of the front light. Hmm. Like most modern bikes, it has an LCD/analog cluster with brightness adjustability.
As stated, the Suzuki GSX-S750 will retail for $7,999 but come only in matt black. For $8,149 you can get the Suzuki GSX-S750Z which comes with some color accents on the forks and springs as well as a metallic blue and white paint job. Yamaha, watch out.
